Independent testing — no abatement sales
VEC provides testing and consulting only and does not perform asbestos abatement. That separation allows the inspection and report to stand independently from the cost of removal work.
Who performs the inspection?
Michael Karger is a Cal/OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant, Cert. No. 26-8173.
What happens during an asbestos survey?
The inspection starts with the project scope and areas expected to be disturbed. Accessible suspect materials are identified, representative samples are collected where appropriate, and samples are submitted for laboratory analysis. The final report documents the inspected areas, analytical results and project-relevant findings.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need asbestos testing before remodeling?
Requirements depend on the structure, scope of work, materials and applicable agency or workplace rules. VEC can review the planned disturbance and help determine an appropriate survey scope.
Can you test flooring, drywall, texture and popcorn ceilings?
Yes. These are common suspect building materials. The required sampling approach depends on how the material is constructed and where it occurs.
How fast can results be returned?
Turnaround depends on project location, laboratory availability and the analytical method requested. Expedited options may be available when a project is time-sensitive.
Do you remove asbestos?
No. VEC is an independent testing and consulting firm and does not perform asbestos abatement.
